| Welcome to the home of the Kick Ace Poker Club. Frequently Asked Questions: Q: So What Is KAPC And How Does It Work? A: KAPC is a non-profit organization with all monies collected, all meaning 100% of monies collected, above our costs and charity, are placed into the prize pool to fund players to play in the W.S.O.P All players being sponsored into W.S.O.P. events will be given a stipen of $250 a day for their event. All monies collected from winnings at W.S.O.P. events will be distributed as follows: 98% of the prize pool gets paid back to the players! The other two percent (2%) is collected and donated to a local charity at the end of the year. Members will vote on which charity that will be. The house takes zero percent (0%) !!!! The split of winnings is as follows:
The KAPC will consist of Professional size, and quality, poker cards, chips. These chips were created for our club and have our own personal logo. Tournaments will be held at various members homes throughout the year. Our goal is to have the KAPC become a community of friendly poker players who love the game of poker! Q: How does this league work? A: First, each person must sign up for membership. Becoming a member is easy! Annual membership dues are paid up front and in full, our dues are $100.00. Alternatively you may come during any of our weekly tournaments and win your membership by placing in the money for your membership along with your tournament buy-in. In order for your points that you earned at any tournament to count you must pay your membership in full by the time the cards fly for your second event. Once your annual membership dues have been paid, you are all set for the next 12 months to come when you want and to win as much as you can. You will need to play a minimum of 12 no limit Texas hold ‘em tournaments, within the season. Your finish in each tournament is worth a numerical value (see algorithm). We will average out those numbers with your top 16 finishes to determine your rank for the coming years WSOP. In the event that the club does not raise enough monies to send one player to the $10,000 main event we will send multiple players to lessor W.S.O.P. events. And of course, all paid members will receive the following:
Remember, the KAPC is a non-profit organization. This means we are not out to make money! We are simply bringing in enough revenue to make the club a quality place to play poker, and to pay for the buy-ins at the W.S.O.P. After your annual membership dues are paid, you are set for the entire year. You will NOT be required to pay any type of fee for any tournament ever, above the $50 buy-in amount to the KAPC tournaments. Also, being a non-profit organization, we would like to give back to the community in some way. So as a member you agree to have two percent (2%) of all cash tournament prize pots donated to a local charity. This will come out of the 50% that goes to the club from every tournament not the winnings payed to the weekly first and second place winners. Every year, the club will donate a check in the total accrued amount brought in for that year. Finally, any dispute with the operation of the KAPC or its tournament play will be adjudicated by a five member commission voted on by the members. The commission is appointed for the first year and an annual election will appoint the commission members thereafter. Q: What are the costs to participate? A: Each tournament you register for will have a cost $50, just like a regular casino tournament. KAPC will notify all members via this Website about our tournament schedule, and your standing after the tournaments. Q: Will the KAPC tournaments have a money prize pool? A: Absolutely! Our tournaments will operate exactly like any normal scheduled tournament dedicated to funding our WSOP prize. Any tournament prize pool money above that amount you win is all yours! Q: How is our ranking determined? A: By using the following formula: ln ( (N + 1) / X ) = player's individual tournament result. ln = "natural log" base for logarithms -- a universal number known as "e" = 2.718282. N = number of players; X = finishing place out. Each player's individual tournament result is then averaged over his/her number of plays...for example, with 300-player tournaments, a player finishing 1st, 300th, 300th would rate 1.9046, just slightly better than a player finishing 45th every time, 1.9004... The person with the highest average during the qualifying period finishes in 1st place. There will be a minimum of 12 no limit Texas hold ‘em tournaments you have to enter and compete during a qualifying period. If you enter and play more than the minimum, then your top scores will be used to calculate your average. However you will receive 1 share for every tournament played in giving you a higher percentage of any winnings we might get at the WSOP. Q: How do we find out about our ranking? A: The Club will post rankings on the website and send them out via e-mail to all members following a tournament. Q: How long is a qualifying period? A: The season will run from August / September until the end of April Q: How many tournaments do I have to play in? A: As of now that number is 12. Each new year that will be determined and posted just before the start of a qualifying period. Q: How many seats will you be giving away per qualifying period? A: At least three. THE MORE MEMBERS WE HAVE THE MORE SEATS WE CAN GIVE AWAY! So recruit your friends to join! Q: If I win a seat, do I pay travel and or room expenses out of my pocket? A: You will get a travel and room allowance. It is designed to help, if it does not cover it all Q: Is there a limit as to how many times I can win? A: No. The more you win, the higher your ranking. If you want to make a run at being our Annual Club Champion you must play in at least 16 of the events labeled "Point Tournament" (PT's). Beyond just winning the normal cash payouts in these PT's, you also earn points based on your finish. At the end of the clubs season the person with the highest ranking will be crowned club champion! Q: What rules will govern the tournament play? A: The KAPC will be following "Roberts Rules of Poker" and "The Tournament Directors Association Rules." Rules will be provided to all members as needed. Please see our by-laws page for a complete breakdown. All tournaments will start with 5,000 chips unless otherwise stated. All weekly tournament times will be as follows unless otherwise stated differently: Weeknight tournaments will start at: 7:00 PM Weekend tournaments will start at: 6:30 PM Tournaments start sharply at these times, so be there at least 15 minutes early to register. The club will close for the day after the tournament is over. Always check the Event Schedule for exact tournament start times. For blind schedules see the Tournament Rules section. Q: Is Being a Member of KAPC Legal/Can I Be Arrested For Joining/Playing? A: KAPC is a privately owned and operated Non-profit tournament poker club created for the development, promotion and enjoyment of the game of poker. Members will never pay a fee for any tournament. The KAPC was created to provide members with a vast amount of different poker tournaments that will be hosted on a regular basis all year long. The club will attempt to hold tournaments as often as possible on a variety of nights, and open at least one night a week, 48 weeks out of the year. Please see the Event Schedule for upcoming tournament dates. Once a solid membership base has been established, the KAPC will cater to the members desired tournament dates and dollar amounts. So, to sum this up, as long as we never charge a fee for a tournament, and as long as we are operating within our own private club (Members Only), we are abiding by the law. Please note that you must be 21 years of age to join the KAPC. |
